Spicy Orange Chicken Wings Recipe

• 2 ½ pounds organic chicken drumettes (or wings)
• 2 tablespoons soy sauce
• 3 cloves garlic, pressed through garlic press
• 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
• Simple Orange Chicken Sauce (recipe below)
• Sesame seeds, for garnish
• Scallions, for garnish

-Place the drumettes (and wings, if using) into a large bowl, and mix together thoroughly with the soy sauce, the garlic, and the ginger; marinate for at least 2 hours, or for best flavor results, overnight.

-Preheat the oven to 450°, and line a baking sheet with foil, and top with a rack if you have one; place the chicken pieces evenly onto the rack with some space between them (if you don’t have a rack, place directly onto the foil in a single layer), and bake on the center/lower rack of the oven for 28 minutes.

-After 28 minutes, turn the broiler on high, and broil for 2 minutes until crispy, and charred golden-brown; toss the wings in the Spicy Orange Chicken Sauce to coat, then sprinkle over some sesame seeds and scallions, and serve while hot.

Spicy Orange Chicken Sauce Ingredients:

• 1/4 cup soy sauce
• 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
• 1/4 cup plus 1tablespoon honey
• 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
• 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
• 3 cloves garlic, pressed through garlic press
• 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
• 1 tablespoon cornstarch

-Add all ingredients into a small saucepan and whisk to completely blend and dissolve the cornstarch; place over medium heat and bring to a simmer, whisking occasionally, until glossy and thickened; remove from heat and allow to slightly cool before tossing the wings in the sauce.
