Arby’s Is Serving Whole Turkey Legs To Mark The ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season Finale

Game of Thrones is set to wrap up its seventh season on Sunday and Arby’s is looking to capitalize on the excitement (or looming dread depending on your outlook) by giving their menu a medieval tweak. That way when you’re gasping or yelling during the evening’s festivities, there’s something you can shove in your HBO watching gob.

Arby’s has announced that its added a smoked turkey leg to its The Meats® roster. It’s not an official GOT sponsored tie-in, but rather a savvy bit of piggybacking for folks that don’t want to venture into a renaissance fair before this weekend’s finale. Feasting on a leg (ideally with NO poop montages this go-around) isn’t something being offered by all Arby’s locations, though. Only select locations (Fargo, Los Angeles; Redmond, Norfolk, Pittsburgh, Phoenix; Denver; Omaha and Atlanta) have the smoked turkey leg on the menu and it’s your standard “while supplies last” offering.

If the turkey leg’s a hit, maybe more fast food joints will trot out their own TV-themed menu items. Maybe McDonald’s could reintroduce the McDLT for the end of The Americans or a special brand of Eggo novelty treat could turn up at Burger King when Stranger Things returns. C’mon American food vendors, ride this wave as far as it will take us!

Stoli® is THE Exclusive Vodka of Atomic Blonde

Stoli Vodka, the original premium vodka with uncompromising quality since 1938, is THE vodka of Atomic Blonde, through an exclusive partnership with Universal Pictures. Oscar® winner Charlize Theron explodes into summer in Atomic Blonde, a breakneck action-thriller that follows her as an MI6 agent through a ticking time bomb of a city simmering with revolution and double cross.  In the film, Agent Lorraine Broughton (Theron) calls for “Stoli on ice” as her cocktail of choice. Atomic Blonde arrives in theaters nationwide on Friday, July 28, 2017.

Stoli Vodka and Universal Pictures are partnering on a co-branded multi-media campaign that includes television advertising, out-of-home, print, digital, and social media content beginning now and running through August. The national campaign includes a 1980s-themed Pandora digital station that celebrates the music from the Atomic Blonde soundtrack. Stoli and Universal are also partnering with movie theater chains to bring a full consumer experience — through a menu of four signature Atomic Blonde Stoli cocktails in limited edition cups — to theater chains nationwide such as Cinepolis and Movie Tavern. Furthermore, retail-themed displays and in-bar parties celebrating the film’s iconic style will be held across the U.S. As well, Stoli is hosting a sweepstakes at for fans to win a trip to Berlin, Germany.

Russell Pareti, Vice President of Marketing at Stoli Group USA said, “Upon reading the script and identifying the shared similarities between the Stoli brand and Agent Broughton, we knew this was a natural and organic opportunity that matched our brand’s unapologetically bold character. It also reinforces our quality and authentic heritage – as this was a specific choice made to fit her character. Indeed, Stoli has been an icon since 1938 and her call for Stoli on ice is the quintessential way of drinking vodka – pure and cold with no fuss. We are excited to be a partner of Atomic Blondewhich sets a new genre and level in style.”

Stoli Vodka will serve as the official sponsor of the film’s red-carpet premiere in Los Angeles in late July, 2017.

Drink Like The Hound at the Game of Thrones Pop-Up Pub

Depending on your point of view, the drinking culture in Game of Thrones is either a bunch of functional alcoholics trying to run a kingdom or a great party with good beer (in some pretty nice horn tankards) and appetizingly simple food. If you’re more in line with the latter, you might want to check out the Game of Thrones pop up pub in Washington D.C. The pub displays some of the show’s most iconic pieces, including the Hall of Faces, the Iron Throne, Winterfell’s Weirwood, and enough show-inspired cocktails to make Tyrion proud. Danaerys’ dragons will occasionally torch the corners and house banners adorn the walls, so you can plot for any side you support and feel right at home. The pub’s only open until August 27 of this years, so plan a road trip if you have to. And get there early. Reservations aren’t accepted and lines form well before the pub opens for the day.

Own the Beer Cans from ‘Lost’

You have to respect a well designed beer can and, for all their faults and murders, the Dharma Initiative did a great job with their minimalist label. The corporation’s logo is already a masterclass in black and white design, so putting it on their can is a no-brainer. From there, they didn’t bother to complicate things with tons of colors, weird abstractions, or psychedelic reinterpretations of normal furniture or animals (which we could totally be making up, but feels like a real thing). Sure, you may not know what specific kind of beer you’re getting, but sometimes we don’t want to worry about keeping up with the newest dry-hopped, hazy, espresso stout IPA. Sometimes we just want a beer. Also, if you get these, they’re bona fide show props, so these are cans that they used during filming. And, of the three cans, one’s still full.

Spritz: Italy’s Most Iconic Aperitivo Cocktail

The Spritz is a category of drinks that dates all the way back to 5th century Greeks and Romans, when it was common to mix or spritz water with wine. But it’s the Italians who made the spritz what it is today. In Spritz: Italy’s Most Iconic Aperitivo Cocktail, with Recipes, a history of the cocktail is offered, along with the evolution of this bitter, bubbly, low-alcohol aperitif that is a staple of Italian cocktail culture. From regional classics to modern variations, Spritz includes dozens of recipes, food pairings, and everything you need to create your very own Italian happy hour.

A Breaking Bad-Themed Bar Is Opening in NYC

Following the Breaking Bad pop-up, fans of the famed drug-centric television series can look forward to a Breaking Bad-themed cocktail bar making its way to New York City this summer. Dubbed ABQ, the bar resides (appropriately) in an RV that will be parked somewhere in the city.

When stepping foot into the space, you will immediately be greeted by bartenders donning hazmat suits. Following your first drink, you’ll then receive a manual detailing the recipes for two DIY cocktails.

The RV bar has already made successful runs in London and Paris, as it will be residing in NYC for just a few months. Currently, there are more than 3,000 people on the waiting list for ABQ, wanting to indulge in various drinks ranging from Saul’s C2H6O semi-frozen cocktail, to the Blue Flynn, which changes color as you alter its acidity.

The World Is Your Burger

A great burger can solve all your problems. Okay, maybe that’s a stretch, but when done right, a burger can at least make you forget about the worries of the world for a little while. We’re not the only ones who feel that way, The World Is Your Burger is a new Phaidon title that celebrates the humble hamburger. Included in the 400-page tome are essays, photos, and a deep dive into the history of the burger. Far from a simple cookbook—though there are 12 recipes—The World Is Your Burger is an ode to a dish. Learn about fast food versions from the likes of Mickey D’s and White Castle, along with more gourmet takes. From the original research to the mouth-watering photography, this is the coffee table book for those of us who can’t wait to fire up our grill. Grab yourself a juicy one and read this book. Just try to keep the ketchup splotches to a
